Bangalore: Kapil Dev held centrestage at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) here on Monday morning. The NCA Chairman had an extensive interactive session with the under-17 trainees before catching the afternoon flight back to Delhi. "It was very informative and we learnt a lot," was the general refrain among the junior players. The under-17 trainees had company as S. Sreesanth sat along with them in the lecture hall. Kapil Dev along with NCA Director Shivlal Yadav also had a review session of the various training programs.
Sreesanth recovering
Meanwhile trainer Ramji Srinivasan expressed optimism over Sreesanth's recovery from a calf-muscle strain. "He has recovered well and from what I have seen so far, he is looking good in the training sessions. We did strength, stability and endurance exercises and we also did functional-specific exercises, which probably is a first. "He is there in the Afro-Asian Cup Twenty20 match and that will be his first match after returning early from Bangladesh. And yes his fitness has to be certified by physio John Gloster and trainer Gregory King and I cannot comment on that but from what I have observed, he has made a very good recovery and in fact he bowled a few deliveries on Friday and on Saturday, he had a full session," Ramji said. Sreesanth will also be going to the MRF Pace Foundation in Chennai for a couple of days later this week. According to Ramji, Irfan Pathan is already training in Chennai.
