JAIPUR: Rajasthan Minister of State for Urban Development Pratap Singh Singhvi on Monday said all projects sanctioned in Jaipur, Ajmer and Pushkar under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) would be completely strictly on schedule.
New dimensions
Presiding over a review meeting on JNNURM at the State Secretariat here, Mr. Singhvi said the projects would establish new dimensions of development in the State Capital and the two pilgrim towns.
Waste management
The projects sanctioned in Jaipur as part of JNNURM include Bus Rapid Transit System at a cost of Rs.469 crore, Chaukdi Sarhad Project of Rs.11.60 crore, solid waste management at a cost of Rs.13.19 crore and Sanjay Nagar Bhatta Basti Rehabilitation Project of Rs.169.43 crore. Secretary (Local Self Government) Manjeet Singh said Rs.188 crore would be spent on the Bisalpur-Ajmer water supply project, which would benefit over 1,400 villages in Ajmer district on its completion expected in September 2008. The residents of slum colonies in Ajmer and Pushkar will be rehabilitated under a project entailing an expenditure of Rs. 107.70 crore. The Municipal Council will provide road, drainage, and power and water supply facilities in these localities.
Improvement
The projects for improvement of slums and renovation of Walled City in Jaipur and development of the Dargah area and sewerage installation in Ajmer were also considered at the meeting.
