HYDERABAD: The Communist Party of India State council has demanded that the Government constitute district-level committees headed by officers of the rank of Joint Collectors to ascertain the extent of land available for distribution among the poor. CPI State secretary K. Narayana said that the Government shouldorder a comprehensive land survey besides ensuring effective coordination between the Revenue and Forest Departments that would help resolve disputes over acres of land. Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Dr. Narayana said that CPI, along with others would intensify occupation of vacant Government lands from June 1 . The agitation should be viewed as a socio-economic issue and not as flouting law and order and concede to the demands.
