BERHAMPUR: Passengers of an Orissa State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) bus had miraculous escape from a landmine blast by Naxals in Malkangiri district on Monday morning. This bus was going from Motu in Malkangiri district to Bhubaneswar. The landmine blast occurred just after a few minutes the bus crossed the spot near Poshuguda, 15 km from Motu on Motu-Jeypore state highway. Mistiming of the landmine saved the bus from major disaster. The distance between the blast and the bus was just four meters. The blast shattered the rear windshield and glass windows of the bus. There were 15 passengers inside the bus just left Motu. All passengers received minor injuries from glass splinters. The driver of the bus immediately took the bus to MV-79 police station where medical help was arranged for the passengers. A police team rushed to the spot to investigate. Malkangiri Superintendent of Police Satyabrata Bhoi has started joint combing operation by the state police and CRPF personnel in areas near the blast to locate the miscreants behind the landmine blast.
