Perumbakkam woman panchayat chief dies

TAMBARAM
: Saraswathy Rajasekhar, president of Perumbakkam village panchayat near Tambaram, died on Sunday. She was 40.
She was on a vacation in Kodaikanal with her family, when she fell unconscious on Saturday.
She was rushed to a private hospital in Madurai, where she died of heart attack on Sunday.
Mrs. Rajasekhar was unanimously elected as president of the panchayat coming under the St. Thomas Mount Panchayat Union during elections to urban and rural local bodies last year.
She was president during the previous term too.
She is survived by husband E. Rajasekar, former president of the panchayat and at present, panchayat union Councillor from Perumbakkam, two daughters, Revathy and Rajaveni, and son Rajkiran.
