GUNTUR: Telugu Desam president criticising Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy for his style of functioning and alleged corruption was like a pot calling the kettle black, said Minister for Transport Kanna Lakshmi Narayana here on Monday. At a press conference here, he said the Telugu Desam Government used the RTC buses to the tune of Rs.9.43 crores and did not settle the accounts pushing the corporation into losses, he declared. In addition to this about Rs.79 crores was due from the Government for the concessions it had provided to different sections of the society. The TDP used it for providing buses for masses it mobilised for its Rythu Sadassus, DWCRA women for Janma Bhoomi programmes and other party programmes in addition to providing buses for Rythu Bazaars. This money was never given to the RTC, he pointed out. The Congress on coming to power immediately paid Rs. 450 crores due from the Government. The recent agitation by the MRPS had inflicted a loss of Rs.1.48 crore due to the loss of 111 buses when activists torched them.
