SHOs transferred

NEW DELHI: Four Delhi Police inspectors were transferred on Monday.

Magan Singh Shekhawat, Station House Officer at Khajuri Khas, has been transferred as SHO of Patel Nagar. Ram Chander Ranga, Additional SHO at Kamla Market, is now SHO of Khajuri Khas. Kali Ram, who was with the Bomb Detection Squad, has been transferred as SHO of Adarsh Nagar, while Rajbir Malik, SHO at Adarsh Nagar, has been posted to Crime and Railways.

Four arrested

NEW DELHI: Four young men have been arrested by the Delhi police for alleged involvement in several cases of highway robberies. Two motorcycles have allegedly been recovered from them.

Acting on a tip-off, the police arrested Harvinder Singh, Mohammad Shafiq, Kishan and Lal Chand near Adilabad Quila here over the weekend.

Man held

NEW DELHI: A 24-year-old man has been arrested at Sarita Vihar here for alleged involvement in several cases of auto-theft and robbery. The police claim to have recovered two motorcycles at his instance.

Following specific information, the police laid a trap at Kalandi Kunj his past Tuesday and Mahipal alias Manav was caught allegedly in possession of a loaded pistol and a live cartridge. .

Gang smashed

NEW DELHI: With the arrest of three young men, the East Delhi police claim to have smashed a gang of snatchers operating in the district.

A group of friends had registered a complaint at the Preet Vihar police station over the weekend stating that they were robbed of three ATM cards, a mobile phone and Rs. 5,300 in cash near a park in Laxmi Nagar. The complainants had also told the registration number of the motorcycle. Acting on the complaint, the police arrested Shakeel, Hasan and Suresh.

Boy killed

NEW DELHI: A six-year-old boy was killed at Mangolpuri here on Monday when an iron gate of a park fell on him.

According to the police, Nissar, son of a rickshaw-puller, was playing with his friends in the park near his house in the morning when the mishap occurred.
