NEW DELHI: The Congress has demanded that Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje apologise to the Nation, for depicting herself as a "goddess" and that penal action also be taken. The party also criticised the top Bharatiya Janata Party leadership for maintaining silence on the issue. "The BJP practises politics of hypocrisy, contradictions and dual speak. On issues they attack other parties, be it criminalisation of politics, dynastic politics, political corruption or attacking art and artistes, the party keeps quite when it is the turn of the BJP," party spokesperson Satyavrat Chaturvedi said. Referring to Ms. Raje depiction, the Congress said the BJP now does not see its leader hurting sentiments of Hindus, even as some religious leaders under the aegis of Vishwa Hindu Parishad have taken up the issue of Ram Setu.
