`Implement pay panel report'

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: The Karnataka State Government Employees' Association on Tuesday urged the Government to implement the Fifth Pay Commission report.

Association president L. Byrappa and general secretary B.S. Prabhakarprasad told presspersons here on Tuesday that the Government could implement the final report along with the earlier report of the commission because it did not entail much financial burden. It had been quantified at Rs. 70 crore.

The State Government had already implemented the interim report of the Commission.

The final report provided for fixed travelling allowance, house building advance, training, and administrative reforms besides setting up a vigilance commission.

Convention

They announced that a State-level convention of the employees would be held in July second week in the State. Employees could send their short stories, poems and essays to the association before June 20 for publication in the souvenir.
