"Need to control glucose levels"

NEW DELHI: A special countrywide campaign for increasing public awareness and reducing complications caused by diabetes has been launched to commemorate 85 years of insulin's commercial launch.

The "Peaks and Valleys Complications Check Camps" campaign re-emphasises the need to control elevated glucose levels to reduce the risk of diabetes-related complications.

Water supply

to be affected

NEW DELHI: Water supply will not be available on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning in some parts of Najafgarh Block and adjoining areas fed by the Najafgarh underground reservoir in the Capital because of inter-connection work in the raw water mains at Mundka metro railway station.

Parts of West Delhi including Vikaspuri, Uttam Nagar, Matiala Village and surrounding colonies, Hastsal, Bindapur, Sadhnagar, Pappan Kalan and Dwarka and adjoining areas in the South-West fed by the Delhi Development Authority command tank will also be affected, according to a Delhi Jal Board release.

Award for liver specialist

NEW DELHI: Dr. Neelam Mohan, consultant paediatric gastro-enterologist and liver specialist at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital here, has been honoured with the Council for National Development's prestigious Bharat Vikas Excellence award.

Dr. Mohan has been credited with setting up the paediatric liver transplantation programme at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.
