Youth's death sparks row

Staff Reporter

`Casualty staff did not attended'

ALAPPUZHA: Barely weeks after the Superintendent of Alappuzha Medical College Hospital (MCH) resigned from the post following a controversy over altercations between hospital staff and relatives of a youth who died there, there was another altercation between the staff and the relatives of a youth on Tuesday.

Shameer, 25, was taken to the hospital on Tuesday morning after suffering serious injuries in a fall from a mango tree.

However, his relatives allege that none of the staff in the casualty wing of the hospital attended to Shameer even 45 minutes after he was taken there.

Shameer was then taken to a private hospital in Kochi, but he breathed his last on the way and was declared brought dead at the hospital.
