Rajasthan police yet to trace Mohanti
|
`Police will continue its search for the DGP'
|
Cuttack:
The Rajasthan police team, which has come here to arrest DGP (fire service) B.B. Mohanti, made little headway on Tuesday as he went on medical leave on May 27.
``We searched for Mr. Mohanti at a hospital in the Buxi Bazar area and also went to the DGP's office for the second time today expecting that he would be present there. But there was no trace of him,'' said Rajasthan police team leader Mukund Bihari.
He said the police would continue its search for the DGP, accused of helping his rape convict son Bitihotra jump parole last December.
Official sources said the Rajasthan team, accompanied by Orissa police, verified the hospital records at Buxi Bazar, which had referred Mr. Mohanti to SCB Medical College Hospital for further treatment as he was suffering from blood dysentery.
However, the SCB hospital authorities made it clear that Mr. Mohanti never came to the hospital for treatment since May 27. PTI
