Drive on water meters

GUNTUR: Guntur Municipal Corporation will take up a special drive from Wednesday on checking the water meters at all commercial establishments and apartment complexes in Guntur city to check unauthorised used of water/evasion of tax.

After a surprise raid on 30 commercial establishments and apartment complexes in Brodipet and Arundelpet in the city on Tuesday, Municipal Commissioner D. Rama Rao told reporters that about Rs.4 crore can be realised totally from water tax full compliance, which would be ensured during the drive.
