RI for assaulting girl

NEW DELHI: A Delhi court has sentenced a 20-year-old man to four years' rigorous imprisonment for kidnapping and criminally assaulting a schoolgirl in 2005. Additional Sessions Judge S. K. Aggarwal also slapped a fine of Rs. 4,000 on convict Monu, a resident of Shalimar Bagh. The Judge rejected the defence argument that the FIR was registered seven days after the incident. Monu was arrested on April 20, 2005, following a complaint lodged by the victim's father.
