Kolar: A delegation representing employees of the erstwhile Bharat Gold Mines Limited (BGML) on Wednesday urged Deputy Commissioner G. Ramachandra to waive interest and penal interest on the loans taken by the workers through a cooperative society. The delegation met the official here and submitted a memorandum in this regard. According to sources, the interest on loans taken by the employees amount to about Rs. 30 lakh to Rs. 40 lakh. The delegation also met Shehar Banu, Managing Director of Kolar District Central Cooperative Bank, to discuss the matter. Ms. Banu promised to look into the matter.
