Bollywood star promotes his latest spring-summer line

NEW DELHI: One of the most sought after superstars of Bollywood, John Abraham came calling at West Gate Mall here on Wednesday to promote his latest spring-summer line.

Dressed in a body-hugging designer T-shirt, John says he loves dressing up in style and shared his vision about clothes with the brand he is endorsing. "The world of design and style has always fascinated me and earlier this year I decided to develop this latent talent and got some help from someone who is associated with denim closely. Along with my partners in design, Salli Deighton, an international designer, and Ramneek Walia, Indian designer, we have put together a limited self-titled edition called John Abraham Collection."

Bombay lad

Stating that he has been fortunate to wear clothes manufactured by talented designers, John says: "I have had the blessings of good designers. During my growing up years, I was a typical Bombay lad who would wear comfortable stuff. Even now I wear T-shirts and jeans. I love Delhi and feel residents of this city love stylish clothes. It is important that you have a sense of style and individuality. I have my own individuality without looking like somebody else."

John has no plans to ask his friend Bipasha Basu to endorse his product line. "Well Bipasha is endorsing some other brand. So let us not think on those lines," says the six-feet-one-inch tall actor.

Saying that he was eagerly waiting for release of his upcoming film "Goal", John, who is a sportsperson and was captain of his college soccer team, says: "When I rode bikes in `Dhoom', Generation X loved it. And now on the football field in "Goal", I will display a trick or two that will come handy in a soccer game."

John wants to steer clear of any controversy surrounding the remake of "Sholay" by Ram Gopal Varma. Instead he likes to talk about the original one that came from the stables of Ramesh Sippy. "Sholay is a film that is not made. It simply happens and remains etched in people's mind."
