Amanjyot stays in lead

BANGALORE : Chikkarangappa returned the only sub-par card for the day, but Amanjyot Singh played level par and held on to the lead after the second round in the BGC-IGU junior, sub-junior tournament here on Wednesday. `Chikka' came up with a one-under 69 while Amanjyot's 70 for the second round kept him ahead by four strokes.

Amanjyot Singh opened with a birdie on the first hole and added on with birdies on the 8th, 10th and 14th. However, he undid all the good work with bogeys on the 2nd, 3rd, 6th and 16th.

Chikkarangappa started with a bogey on the first hole and another on the eighth to be two over 37 for the first half.

Chikka made a par on the sixth and missed another birdie on the seventh. The birdie finally came on the 14th after which Chikka scored another two in quick succession to sink three birdies in a row and finish with one-under 69 for the day.The cut was applied at 157 for `A' category, 165 for `B' and 178 for `C' category.
