HYDERABAD : A double century by Revanth Sai (227 not out, 24 x 4, 5 x 6) helped Sarojini Cricket Academy score a thumping, 265-run win against Buland Cricket Academy (Kolkata) in the open category of the All India Pepsi Cup sub-juniors cricket tournament in Bangalore, according to information received here. The scores: Sarojini CFA 356 for one in 30 overs (Revanth Sai 227 not out, Venkatesh Goud 42, Tarun 76 not out) bt Buland CA, Kolkata, 91 (Vijay Krishna three for 12, Hariharan three for 18, Debashish Chakrabarthy three for 22).
Abhirath shines
A good all-round show by Abhirath, who claimed three for 29 and then hit 81, helped St. Joseph's High School record a nine-wicket win against Sportive Cricket Club in the under-11 semifinal of the Paradise Persis Gold Cup sub-juniors cricket tournament here. The scores: Under-11: Sportive CC 153 for eight (Wasim 30, Abhirath three for 29) lost to St.Joseph's HS 154 for one (Abhirath 81). Under-13: St. Joseph's HS 105 for nine (Noor three for 12) lost to St.Patrick's HS 106 for one (Pavan 66, Chandrasekhar 38).
Good win for Locuz
Locuz scored a 45-run win over Challengers Cricket Club in the Coronet Cup corporate cricket tournament here. The scores: Locuz 153 for four (Kiran 56) bt Challengers CC 108 (Nishanth four for 27). Superdents 153 for nine (Mushtaq 46 not out) lost to BUA XI 154 for six (Rashid 46).
Gowtham scores win
T. Gowtham outwitted G. Sai Vasavadatta in the second round of the AP State open chess tournament in Narsararaopet (Guntur), according to information received here. Zainab advances
Zainab Ali Sajjad of Hyderabad continued her winning spree when she defeated Parminder Kaur 6-2, 6-2 in the quarterfinals of the Asian junior ranking tennis tournament in Pune on Wednesday according to information received here.
