Check privatisation of education, say teachers

HYDERABAD:
The Andhra Pradesh Democratic Teachers' Federation, that concluded its two-day State Council and Committee meeting here on Tuesday, demanded steps by the Government to save the education sector from increasing trends of privatisation.
In a resolution, the meeting criticised the administration for failing to honour the commitment of providing free education to all in ten years and bringing in a new uniform education policy without any distinction between the rich and the poor.
The meeting, demanded steps by Government to frame uniform service rules for teachers and effect their transfers/postings.
