Two points for East Zone

BANGALORE: East Zone claimed two points from its drawn encounter against North Zone on first-innings lead in the Col. Hemu Adhikari NCA inter-academy cricket tournament here on Wednesday.

Resuming at an overnight total of 329 for three, in reply to North's 402, East Zone made 457. Rohan Banjeree, who was on 150, went on to score 182 and Suarbh Tiwari compiled another century (118) thus ensuring an innings lead for the East. North, in its second knock, made 177 for five with Virat Kohli making 77.

West Zone drew with South Zone in another match. South, which had conceded a first-innings lead on Tuesday, declared its second innings on 256 for eight. Abhinav Mukund hammered a strokeful 149. West in its second innings made 70 for three wickets.

The scores: South 313 and 256 for eight decl. (Abhinav Mukund 149) drew with ZCA West 364 and 70 for three.

ZCA North 402 and 177 for five (Virat Kohli 77, Tanwar Kohli 48) drew with ZCA East 457 (Rohan Banerjee 182, Saurbh Tiwari 118).
