NEW DELHI: A day after members of the Gujjar community clashed with the police in Dausa, Rajasthan, the Union Home Ministry on Wednesday issued an advisory to neighbouring States like Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, which have a sizeable Gujjar population, to take appropriate security measures to ensure that peace was maintained.

According to a Home Ministry spokesman, the advisory was issued as a precautionary measure after a review of the situation in Dausa. The Home Ministry has already rushed required forces to Rajasthan to help restore law and order in the violence-hit areas of the State.
