Transco sticks to its stand
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD:
The Transco and the four distribution companies have stuck to their stand of not buying electricity from power projects based on municipal solid waste.
Instead, they have suggested that the concerned civic bodies should purchase this power for their street-lighting purpose.
Sources said the officials of the utilities took the firm stand at a meeting held here on Wednesday by Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, on the ground that the consumers interests would be in jeopardy if they were to buy the power from these plants at high price as proposed.
