Plea to remove Andhra MLAs from panel

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Telangana Employees' Association has objected to the attitude of members of the House Committee on GO 610 hailing from Andhra region, saying Government had erred in giving representation to them on the panel.

C. Vittal, president, and others in a statement here on Wednesday said no member from Andhra should have been included in the committee as the GO was meant to repatriate employees working in V and VI Zones of Telangana. They contended only Telangana MLAs should have been on the committee.

They wondered how could justice be done to Telangana if members like G. Venkat Reddy, who wanted the GO 610 scrapped, were made members. They alleged that legislators from Andhra were blocking implementation of GO in State-level offices and Gurukul educational societies. They demanded removal of such MLAs from the committee if Government was serious about implementation of GO 610.
