No exemption for M.Phil. holders

Doctoral degree holders to be exempted from the NET examination for appointments

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Holders of M.Phil degree will not be exempted from clearing the NET examinations of the University Grants Commission for being appointed as teachers in institutions under the University of Kerala.

This was decided at a meeting of the University's Academic Council held here on Wednesday. However, those with a doctoral degree in the subject will be exempted from the NET for similar appointments. The decisions came when the Council debated the UGC directive.
