`Withdraw GO 36'

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: The Joint Action Committee of Telangana Employees, Teachers and Workers has appealed to Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy to withdraw GO 36 that identifies Hyderabad as an independent city for the purpose of determining local status of people in employment.

In a memorandum to Dr. Reddy, the committee pointed out that there was in effect no change in the situation by the new GO. Hyderabad was derecognised as Zone VII and named `city,' which did not make any difference to its position.
