`Court cannot prevent arrest'

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: District and Sessions Judge K. Ramakrishnan on Wednesday observed that the court cannot prevent the police from arresting chief chemical examiner R. Geetha and analyst M. Chithra in connection with tampering of the original work register containing the chemical report of Sister Abhaya. Both Ms. Geetha and Ms. Chithra had filed a petition before the court on Tuesday seeking bail after the Chief Judicial Magistrate issued a non- bailable warrant against them in the case. — Staff Reporter

Traffic to be diverted

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Vehicular traffic near the Poojappura Mandapam will be diverted on Thursday, Friday and Saturday to enable the laying of pipelines across the road at Poojappura junction under the JBIC scheme. Vehicles going to Thirumala from Karamana should go to Central Jail junction from Poojappura square and proceed along the road by the side of the Poojappura maidan. Vehicles coming from Poojappura to Thirumala should turn right from Pallimukku junction and proceed via Vazhuthacaud, a press note issued here said. — Staff Reporter
