Tough day for Indian women

NEW DELHI: The Indian women's air pistol shooters had it tough as they could not figure in the top 40 in a field of 117 in the World Cup at Munich on Thursday.

Shweta Chaudhary shot a 377 out of 400 to take the 42nd place, following rounds of 93, 92, 94 and 98. In a high scoring field, Harveen Srao shot two points less than Shweta but was 19 places down.

The results:

Women's air pistol: 1. Viktoria Chaika (Blr) 488.4 (390); 2. Jasna Sekaric (Srb) 487.4 (388); 3. Mira Nevansuu (Fin) 487.1 (389); 42. Shweta Chaudhary 377; 61. Harveen Srao 375; 85. Anisa Sayeed 371.
