Court permits CFA Institute to conduct exams
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI:
The Delhi High Court on Thursday permitted the America-based Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA) Institute providing self-study courses of financial analysts to go ahead with its three-tier examinations scheduled for June 3.
Justice B.D. Ahmed passed the order on a petition by the Institute seeking quashing of the May 18 order of the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) restraining it from running the courses and conducting the examinations.
However, Mr. Justice Ahmed made clear to the institute that it would have to meet all other directions of the council.
The order was confined to the conduct of the examinations only, the court stressed.
There are about 7,000 aspirants who will write the examinations on June 3.
The court will now hear the matter on merit on September 20.
