CPI to lay siege to Collectorates on June 21

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Criticising the Government for its "indifferent attitude" in implementing the Koneru Ranga Rao Land Committee report, the CPI State Council has decided to lay siege to district Collectorates on June 21 demanding that the Government take concrete measures for distribution of land to poor. This will be followed by `Chalo Hyderabad' rally during the monsoon session of the Legislative Assembly in July for which the party will seek help from other opposition parties. Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, CPI K. Narayana said the two-day meeting of the party's State Secretariat that commenced here had discussed the issue threadbare and decided to intensify its agitation.

Mr. Narayana also told his CPI(M) counterpart B.V. Raghavulu to stop levelling baseless allegations against the CPI as it would widen the gap between the two parties.
