ERODE: G. Aarthy of Kalaimagal Kalvi Nilayam Girls' Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Erode has secured the first place in State in the matriculation examination, scoring 1074 out of 1100. She also scored hundred marks in Mathematics and Science. Daughter of N. Ganesan, a special officer with a handloom society, and P. Selvi, a government school teacher, Aarthy attributed the success to her teachers and parents. "I studied with full concentration only three months prior to the examination." She said she focussed on objective type questions in Science and Humanities to score well. Aarthy said she spent over three hours a day in evenings, and in holidays a few more hours extra in the mornings. She said she fully concentrated in solving equations and derivations in Science and working out problems in Mathematics every day. She said she would like to study Electronics and Communication Engineering. She is a black belt holder in Karate and she also loves to play Chess.
