TIRUCHI: Under the Anglo-Indian pattern, students of Tiruchi city have wrested the first and second spots at the State-level in the Class X public examination.

S. Subashree, a student of St. Joseph's Anglo-Indian Girls Higher Secondary School, has secured the State first with a score of 963. V. Venkat Rajath of the Campion Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School stood second, with a total of 959. Both the students have secured full marks in science.

For Subhashree, it was her doctor-parents (Senthil Vel Kumar and S. Poongothai) who "coached her all through." A doctor-aspirant, she has opted for Biology group in higher secondary.

In last year's Class X public examination, students of Campion Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School and St. Joseph's Anglo-Indian Girls' Higher Secondary school achieved the first and second ranks at the State level.
