Power lines franchising yielding good results

VIZIANAGARAM: Franchising 106-km feeder line in Kurupam mandal to mahila mandal samkhya last year began yielding good results, B. Ramesh Prasad, SE (Transco), told newsmen on Thursday.

Mr. Prasad, who was promoted as Chief General Manager (O & CS) and posted in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday, said following franchising the service connections had increased from 2,482 to 3,122, meter sales increased from 52.20 per cent to 70.30 per cent and the line losses reduced from 47.70 per cent to 30.76 per cent.
