CALLING ATTENTION: MP G.V. Harshakumar at a press conference in Rajahmundry on Thursday. Photo: S.Rambabu
Rajahmundry: G.V. Harshakumar, MP from Amalapuram, has come down heavily on delimitation of Parliamentary and assembly constituencies. He termed it as a `conspiracy' of the state election commission. Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, he alleged that according to guidelines the coastal Andhra region should get at least five SC reserved constituencies but only two constituencies (Amalapuram and Bapatla) reserved. He said would complain to the President in this regard, particularly against State Election Commissioner AVS Reddy. Mr. Harshakumar asked the Mala community leaders and workers in the TDP in Coastal Andhra region to come out of that party because their party leader reiterated in Mahanadu that classification of SCs should be done at any cost, which will affect the prospects of Malas. He asked Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy to follow Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia who categorically stated that she had not made any promise to Gujjars during the election and she will not bow to the pressures of Gujjars. "Similarly, Rajasekhara Reddy should also take tough stance on Madiga's pressure," Mr Harshakumar said. He said he would support Jupudi Prabhakar's agitation and even in future he will continue to support agitations by Malas.
