Belgaum: The KLES Institute of Dental Sciences organised a rally to mark "World No Tobacco Day" here on Thursday. The rally was conducted to create awareness among people about the harmful effects of tobacco. Nearly 500 dental students and staff members of the institute participated in the rally, which culminated at the Deputy Commissioner's office. Later, a memorandum with a detailed fact sheet about the health hazards caused by tobacco, its consumption by the youth and the prevalence of tobacco-related habits in Belgaum was submitted to the Government.
Health material
Deputy Commissioner M.E. Shivalingmurthy released an educational health material on helpful tips to quit tobacco. A skit on the harmful effects of tobacco was staged at the KSRTC main bus stand.
