Venkat, Kamran in final

KOLKATA: Sixth seeded Venkat Ramanan of Tamil Nadu will take on local challenger Kamran Ali in the boys' under-12 singles final of the AITA talent series tennis.

The results (semifinals): Boys: Singles: U-14: Nihal Singh (Bih) bt Prateek Singh (Ori) 4-6, 6-1, 6-0; Shreedhar Gaggar (Ben) bt Mohammad Azhar (Ben) 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.

U-12: Kamran Ali (Ben) bt Suraj Hariani (M.P.) 4-2, 4-0; Venkat Ramanan (TN) bt Nishant Rebello (A.P.) 1-4, 5-4(3), 5-3.

Girls: Singles: U-14: Mandovi Mullick (Ben) bt Sabrina Sayed (Ben) 6-2, 6-2; Srijita Ghosh (Ben) bt Angana Mukherjee (Ben) 6-1, 7-6(3).
