New UP MLAs to undergo training before budget session

Jaunpur: The newly elected members of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly will undergo a two-day training programme before the House meets for the budget session, Speaker Sukhdev Rajbhar said here on Thursday.

Traditions

The MLAs would be apprised of the functioning of the legislature, its responsibilities, traditions and values during the programme before the budget session starts in July, he said.

Mr. Rajbhar suggested that the legislature, the executive and the judiciary as well as the media function in a dignified manner within their respective jurisdiction to avoid unnecessary clash and tension. ``In this manner they would not just strengthen democracy but also safeguard constitutional norms,'' he said.

Workshop

Mr. Rajbhar asked the MLAs to attend the workshop on social engineering being organised by Lucknow University so that they could understand the subject better. - PTI.
