Chief Mentor of Infosys N.R. Narayana Murthy filed a criminal petition in the Karnataka High Court on Thursday seeking to quash proceedings in a trial court against him. A Bangalore court had initiated proceedings against Mr. Murthy following a complaint that he had insulted the Nation by making certain remarks against the National Anthem. The case is likely to come up before Justice Mohan Shantan Goudar on Friday.

Getting ready for rains

Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Commissioner K. Jairaj will hold a meeting of Joint Commissioners and Chief Engineers of all the eight divisions to review the measures taken to prevent damage from rains on Friday. He will review the precautionary measures taken in this regard, according to a BBMP statement.

BSNL Open House

Open House Sessions will be held in the Offices of Area Managers and Deputy General Manager (Rural) of BSNL, Bangalore Telecom District on Saturday at 10 a.m. to redress the grievances, a BSNL statement said.

Water Adalat

BWSSB Water Adalat of East-I sub-division will be held on Friday from 9.30 a.m. to settle disputes connected with water billing, delay in giving water supply and sanitary connection, delay in conversion from non-domestic to domestic connection and other related disputes in the office of the Assistant Executive Engineer of the sub-division at HRBR Layout. The Executive Engineer of East Division will conduct this Adalat. People in Kasturinagar, OMBR Layout, HRBR Layout, and HBR Layout may avail the benefits of it. Call 22945158 for details.
