WARANGAL: The two-day sports meet for the rural youth being organised by the district police and Consortium of India Farmers Association (CIFA) got to a colourful start. Youth hailing from different corners, mostly agency areas of the district, turned up for the competitions being held in volleyball and kabbadi. Kabbadi is being organised for both men and women. More than 60 teams are participating in the two-day meet. Participating as chief guest at the inaugural function, Additional Director General of Police (Welfare) Vivek Dubey stressed the need for youngsters to take part in sports and games as they helped develop one's all round personality. They also helped them know people from other areas and make friends. K. Laxman Mohan, Warangal Range DIG, urged the youth to develop sportsman spirit rather focus entirely on winning the game. One should take joy in participating in the event rather worrying over winning or losing a game. Superintendent of Police Soumya Mishra said they had invited three teams from each circle from across the district. Elaborate arrangements were made for participants.
