KOCHI: Attracting talented youth to the Coast Guard has been a major concern of the force and a wage hike will go a long way in getting talented personnel join the Coast Guard and other Defence Services, Commander, Coast Guard Region (West), and Inspector-General A. Rajasekhar has said. He was answering questions from mediapersons here on Friday on why bright youngsters were not attracted to the Services. The force, he said, had been participating in education fairs and sending teams to colleges to attract talented youth. Many personnel in the Coast Guard's air arm wanted to join the booming civil aviation sector where they could get better pay.
