Bangalore: There is a great deal of apprehension on how the State can abide by the High Court order on transferring students from derecognised schools to the recognised ones, considering that the academic year has already begun. Sources in the Education Department, on condition anonymity, said it was a Herculean task to not only transfer students but also to ensure transfer of fee already paid. Primary and Secondary Education Minister Basavaraj S. Horatti said that he would instruct the Education Department officials to study the order and think of the best alternative. "We will do our best to protect the interest of students even if it is going to be hard on the Government," he said. A meeting of officials would be convened on June 5 to work out the modalities, he added. M.A. Anand, President of the Karnataka State Private School Managements Federation, said the federation would appeal against the High Court order. Asked about the fate of students, he said: "We might even consider running Kannada-medium classes in the morning and offering them English tuitions in the afternoon," he said.
