J&K Gujjars threaten to march to Rajasthan

Every Gujjar in the State is behind their Rajasthan counterparts Gujjars form the third largest ethnic group of the State
Jammu:
Gujjar leaders in Jammu and Kashmir said on Friday that if the Rajasthan Government failed to redress the grievances of their community, they would march in large numbers to that State.
This was stated by the State unit president of the Akhil Bharatiya Gujjar Mahasabha, Ashfaq-ur-Rehman.
Gujjar student organisations held demonstrations condemning the action of the BJP Government. Shah Nawaz Chowdhary, president of the Gujjar Students' Federation, said a delegation would be sent to Dausa area of Rajasthan to express solidarity with the community. Protests were reported in the Surankote area of Poonch district. Community leader Mohammad Qasim said every Gujjar in the State was behind the community in Rajasthan and would do every thing to protect their lives and rights.
Tribal Research Cultural Foundation secretary Javid Rahi has appealed to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to intervene in the issue.
