YMCA to observe prayer day today

Chief Minister to inaugurate meet on June 9

PATHANAMTHITTA: The Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) has decided to observe `prayer day' at all its branches on Saturday as a prelude to the association State meet.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, organising committee leaders K.I.Idicula and Shibu Abraham said it is for the first time the YMCA State meet is to be held in Pathanamthitta.

A leaders' meet prior to the State meet will be held at the YMCA Hall here on Sunday afternoon. Joseph John will inaugurate the meeting to be presided by organising committee chairman Leby Philip Mathew. The organisers said that the YMCA formation day would be celebrated at all the regional units on June 6. Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan will inaugurate the State meet on June 9.
