`Remove unauthorised hoardings'

Staff Reporter

NAMAKKAL: The Namakkal municipality has directed the owners of unauthorised hoardings to remove them within June 10. Commercial establishments, educational institutions and political parties erected hoardings and banners without obtaining proper permission from the district administration. These unauthorised hoardings were causing inconvenience to the road users. Municipal officials said that if the owners failed to adhere to the order, the municipal administration would remove the hoardings with the help of revenue, highways and police officials. The municipality also asked the shopkeepers to remove the structures built by encroaching the pavements, roads and bus stand. Vendors had occupied a vast portion of the pavement causing problems to the pedestrians.
