Over 1,400 telephones shifted

NEW DELHI: Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited on Friday shifted 1,480 telephones operating from the Shakti Nagar exchange to Dhaka exchange. As a result, phone numbers having level numbers 2711-14, 2721-25 and 2741-46 have changed to a new level number: 2760.

The areas where the numbers have changed include Nirankari Colony, Dhirpur, Radio Colony, Indira Vikas Colony and Parmanand Colony.

NCC mountaineering team flagged off

NEW DELHI: The National Cadet Corps boys' mountaineering expedition to Kalanag Peak (6,387 metres) was flagged off here on Friday by Defence Secretary Shekhar Dutt.

The team comprising leader Lt. Col. Amrek Singh, deputy leader Lt. Col. Narinder Singh, medical officer Capt. Narinder Rai and 20 cadets from all over the country will leave the Capital on Sunday. It will reach the base camp on June 5. After acclimatisation and training, it will attempt the peak between June 17 and 20.

DDA extends deadline for booking sites

NEW DELHI: Taking into consideration representations made by residents' welfare associations and other public representatives, the Delhi Development Authority has extended the deadline for booking of identified vacant land and sites for holding marriages or social functions till June 23. Earlier, the date was June 22.

In all there are 150 sites all over Delhi available for booking with the DDA. To book these sites, the applicants can contact the Chief Zonal Engineer of the area.
