KORAPUT: The National Rural Employment Guarantee Programme (NREGP) is under tight scrutiny from all sectors in Koraput district. While the district vigilance wing under the leadership of Bishnu Charan Das, vigilance SP of the district, has found serious gaps in its implementation in various parts, the social audit organised by SPREAD, a State-level NGO, has brought out the comparative findings between the data submitted by the scheme implementing agencies and the ground reality in Nandapur block of Koraput district. The muster roll maintains that Ramachandra Matam from Godiput has worked for 22 days under the scheme. But it surprised everyone in the social audit camp at Bilaput of Nandapur block when Ramachandra denied of any knowledge of working under the scheme. Similar experience has been reported from Mangali Khora and Shyam Matam of Jabagarh in the same block whose names have been placed in the muster roll against the work for ten days. There are serious differences between the data available in the website and the job cards maintained by PEOs of the block.
