Veduka (Telugu) Cast: Raja, Poonam Bajwa Director: Jitender Happiness can't be bought, and that love and family should be put before money, (is what one will realise after watching Veduka ... celebration of love, starring Raja and Poonam Bajwa. The narrative has more bark than bite. To simplify that it's about a pampered girl who keeps rubbing guys on the wrong side and just when she thinks she has avoided trouble and falls in love with the hero, troubles bounce back. There is a happy ending though. The director seems clueless as to how to take his characters beyond cooking, dancing, playing tennis, dressing and cool -dude speech patterns that make them look like overgrown collegians. It's hard to describe this film, because it doesn't easily fit into any one genre - not due to its depth or variety - but rather its chronic failure to set out its stall and nail its colours to the mast. Director Jitender tries hard to make the film watchable but the audience lose patience's until the lovebirds confess their love.
Lacks support
Alas, the script and direction don't support Raja's attempts to rise above the chronic silliness that colonises the inner world of the constantly festive characters. Dharmavarapu Subramanyam's comedy is unbearable, Naresh, Sudha and even K. Vishwanath's character is nothing but a pointless prattle. Poonam Bajwa careening between effervescence and innocence tries hard to look like she's having fun. The film has its share of positive points but they are few to raise any promise.
