High Court seeks reply

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court has sought replies from the Centre and the Delhi Government on a public interest litigation accusing them of not taking care of the families of migrant labourers here in case of their death while on duty despite a law being in place.

A Division Bench of the Court comprising Justice M. K. Sharma and Justice Sanjiv Khanna asked the Centre to inform it by July 25 if it had introduced the much talked about Bill in Parliament for improving the lot of labourers in the unorganised sector.

It directed the Centre and the Delhi Government to file separate status reports.
