The concept of classrooms as pedagogy parks includes visual and self-learning facilities inside the classroom and outside. The first of these parks was set up at Azhchavattom Government LP School in the city at a cost of Rs.50,000. The park will be inaugurated by Minister for Education M.A. Baby as part of the State-level inauguration of `Praveshanolsavam' (welcome to students on first day of school) on Monday. A sum of Rs.50,000 will be disbursed to select upper primary (UP) schools under the fund to modernise science laboratories. A sum of Rs.1.1 lakh will be provided to select high schools to set up IT facilities with Internet connection.
