Staff Reporter
CHENNAI:
Nearly 50 volunteers from the Selfless Movement Improving Life Everywhere (SMILE), a Chennai-based voluntary organisation, cleaned a temple in Singapore last week.
From removing shrubs and cleaning of garden area to cleaning of vessels and pooja articles, the team from SMILE did all it could to ensure that the Veera Kaliamman Temple in Singapore was spic and span.
SMILE founder C.N. Paramasivan said the activity marked the organisation's first voluntary temple cleaning activity outside India.
