Ayurveda hospital to be inaugurated on Monday

Bidar: Deputy Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa will inaugurate an upgraded hospital of the N.K. Jabshetty Ayurvedic Medical College in Bidar on June 4.

"The hospital with 200 beds has been built at a cost of Rs 1.7 crore. It is equipped with all facilities expected of a full-fledged ayurveda hospital," Shivakumar Swamiji of the Sri Siddharoodha Math and president of the college committee told presspersons here on Saturday.

The Sri Siddharoodha Charitable Hospital and Research Centre will offer treatment to the poor at subsidised cost, he said.

According to him, a team of nine Panchakarma specialists from Shantagiri

Ashram will be employed in the hospital.

Nearly 400 graduates and 60 postgraduates have passed out of the college that was started in 1991. It has an intake of 70 undergraduate seats and 18 postgraduate seats, college secretary Channabasappa Halahalli said.

The hospital would offer specialised services for chronic diseases and lifestyle diseases such as hypertension, insomnia, and joint pains, asthma, rheumatism, paralysis, obesity, skin disease and neurological diseases, college adviser V.S. Patil said.

Sri Bala Gangadharnath Swamiji of Adi Chunchanagiri Math, Sri Shivanand Bharati Swamiji of Inchal, Sri Saikumar Swamiji of Secunderabad will be present on the occasion.

Ministers V.S. Acharya, Bandeppa Kashempur, Govind Karjol, leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly N. Dharam Singh and others will participate, the swamiji added.
